My Own Story

Many of you may be wondering what qualifies me to run this website and offer the services that I offer so I thought I would give you all a bit of background into my journey to Healing Touch and how it has helped me and ultimately lead me to pursue my dreams with Mending Hands.

I was born and raised in Georgia (that's right...a true Ga Peach) and I am in my thirties. I was lucky enough to reconnect with an old high-school boyfriend in my late 20's and he is the love of my life. We were married on New Years Eve 2011 and were blessed with a son in 2013. We have two rescue Kittens - now grown- named Lila and Thea and we are a very happy little family. From an early age I had serious medical problems which meant I spent significant amounts of my childhood in various hospitals. I had a very rough time in my teens to early twenties and have suffered from depression as well as experiencing many trials and tribulations related to my insane thinking.

I have my BSN and am a registered nurse, received from Mercer University, Georgia Baptist College of Nursing. I have am trained as a critical care and cardiac nurse. The heart and the way it works fascinates me.

Back in 2014 I learned about Reiki and took all three levels to become a Usui Reiki Master. Since then I have passed on my skills with Reiki to many different people. I feel at home with energy work and in 2014 I also began studying Healing Touch Therapy but didn’t really use it until April of 2016 when I was encouraged by friend to pursue this dream of mine.

And so here I am with my business, Mending Hands. I am am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, encourager, Registered Nurse, Healer, an Empath and Spiritual being. I believe to see our light we must face our darkness. I believe if I am not the problem (i.e. my thinking) then there is no solution.

I truly just want to help other people feel good and get better. I spent so many years being a taker and now I have the desire to be a giver. Or at the very least give more than I take.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and please do reach out to me if you would like any information on our services or what we can help you with.

Love and Blessings

~Emily
